Have you ever been afraid? You know that fear that creeps up inside you. It starts in your gut, then moves on to your chest. You feel like you can’t breathe. No matter how much or how hard you try, you just can’t get that air inside. Then the pain begins as if you are lying on a cement floor, and one by one blocks of steel are being rested on top of your chest. You fight it. Maybe because you have to; maybe because you have no other recourse. You open your eyes and for a moment you feel strong! You know that you have control. You look out over the open ground and move to take a step. You almost have it now, that first step, almost complete. A thought passes and you hesitate, only for a moment. You think to yourself that it won’t matter, but it is already too late. The pain returns….
